Desert Power Wagons presents Project Colossus, a bespoke six-wheel-drive crew cab that brings the commanding character of a classic Dodge Power Wagon together with the technology and supercharged performance of a 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.

A dramatically elongated silhouette, six oversized off-road tires, satin charcoal-gray bodywork, and a purpose-built four-door cabin establish its presence before the engine ever turns over.

And with a National Speed Stage-3-upgraded supercharged HEMI producing approximately 1,000 horsepower, this is considerably more than a vintage-inspired appearance package.

CLASSIC POWER WAGON CHARACTER. MODERN TRX ENGINEERING.
Colossus draws on the upright grille, muscular front fenders, long hood, and no-nonsense proportions associated with the historic Power Wagon, but its foundation is a modern 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.

The four-door crew cab, crafted by Tisdale Coachworks, extends the familiar utilitarian shape into something far more imposing. Finished in Satin Charcoal Gray, the body is contrasted by black fenders, black off-road wheels, full-length side steps, and a deep pickup bed protected by a textured liner.

Power Wagon lettering along the hood reinforces the visual connection to Dodge’s working-truck heritage. Yet Colossus is not presented as a period restoration: it is a contemporary six-wheel-drive custom, deliberately designed to give a familiar American icon an entirely different set of capabilities.

A SUPERCHARGED HEMI WITH A SECOND ACT
At the heart of Colossus is the TRX’s 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI SRT V8. Originally rated at 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, this already formidable engine has been transformed with a National Speed Stage-3 upgrade and bespoke engine and transmission calibration. With National Speed’s enhancements, Colossus now produces approximately 1,000 horsepower and 925 lb-ft of torque.

The upgrade package includes a National Speed NS1 camshaft by Cam Motion, Brian Tooley Racing valve springs and pushrods, a Kong Performance-ported supercharger snout and bearing plate, a Nick Williams 108mm throttle body, and Injector Dynamics ID1050x fuel injectors.

Supporting components include a ZPE GripTec 2.85-inch upper supercharger pulley, Gates HD Fleetrunner belt, pinned crankshaft, Stainless Works long-tube headers, GSport by GESi UHO catalytic converters, J&L air-oil separator, and appropriately specified NGK spark plugs. National Speed also performed PCM unlocking and HP Tuners-based engine and transmission calibration using its DynoJet 424xLC2 chassis dynamometer.

The result is far more than a simple supercharger-and-exhaust upgrade. With extensive changes to the camshaft, valvetrain, forced-induction hardware, fueling, exhaust, and calibration, Colossus brings extraordinary modern supertruck performance to its classic Power Wagon-inspired silhouette.

Power is managed by the TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission. TRX launch control with launch assist, eight selectable driving modes—Auto, Sport, Snow, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock, Baja, and Tow—and a separate Valet mode add a remarkably modern layer of driver control beneath the truck’s traditional-looking sheet metal.

THREE AXLES. SIX DRIVEN WHEELS.
The six-wheel-drive system is central to the Colossus concept, not merely a visual flourish.

A full-time BorgWarner transfer case provides 6WD Auto, 6WD High, and 6WD Low operating ranges, while heavy-duty axle hardware includes a Dana 60 rear axle with an electronically locking differential. Bilstein Black Hawk e2 active-damping shock absorbers and high-performance brakes support the substantial footprint and powertrain.

All six road wheels wear aggressive 38x11.50R18 Toyo Open Country R/T tires mounted on black Black Rhino BR012 Outback wheels. The combination of substantial ground clearance, broad stance, and tandem rear axles makes Colossus a machine that refuses to disappear into the scenery.

A front-mounted WARN VR EVO 12-S winch with a 12,000-pound rating adds genuine recovery equipment, while AMP Research PowerStep side steps make entry and exit more manageable. Full LED exterior lighting completes the modernized utility equipment.

DISTRESSED PINECONE. HIGH-TECH EVERYWHERE ELSE.
The interior is an equally deliberate contrast of old and new.

Rich Pinecone Distressed leather covers the seating, door cards, dashboard accents, and center-console surfaces, adding warmth and tactile detail to a cabin otherwise informed by modern TRX engineering. The custom-trimmed door panels retain their purposeful shape while gaining the kind of hand-finished character expected of a bespoke build.

Behind the wheel, TRX digital instrumentation, performance controls, and the Uconnect 12.0-inch touchscreen with navigation keep the driving experience thoroughly contemporary. Dual-zone automatic temperature control, a ParkView rear backup camera, and power-adjustable seating add everyday convenience.

A JL Audio premium sound system supplies the soundtrack when the supercharged V8 is taking a break. Overhead, a Vastfire Twinkle & Meteor fiber-optic starlight headliner, together with ambient interior illumination, adds an unexpected flourish after dark.

A DIFFERENT BREED OF POWER WAGON
Colossus is best understood as a meeting of two very different eras: the honest, unmistakable design language of a vintage American workhorse and the sophisticated performance hardware of a modern TRX.

Its six-wheel-drive layout makes an immediate statement. The custom crew cab gives that statement real scale. The upgraded HEMI, contemporary electronics, and refined cabin ensure the engineering is every bit as interesting as the silhouette.
